Christmas charity did not extend to our only hospice last night who asked the Leyland East area committee to make a £200 contribution to their Christmas lights.
Cty Cllr Matt Tomlinson who stressed that in his mayoral year had supported the charity and made his own private gift aid donations felt that this was not an appropriate item to spend area funds upon. The other members agreed despite the fact that Central and other committees had said yes.
The rest of the time was largly taken up with problems with youth on Tulketh Brow who were drinking; spreading litter and damaging vehicles. Motorised youth were exploiting the open gate of Worden park to drive around and fire rockets towards the Worden Estate. One resident had padlocked the gates only to be told by the Police that he could not imprison them and he had to open the gates and let them out!!Leave a comment
